Has the American Dream left America?

Nicholas Kristof talks about education in America, and how it has changed over the years. How education in America use to be the country's strong suit. He gives examples with telling the readers how his own father chose to come to the United States instead of staying in France even though his father could speak perfect French and didn't know how to speak English at all, because he wanted a better future for him and his children. Kristof gives a lot of statistics and surveys to help prove his point on how education is now better in other countries.
I would agree with Kristof, because he is saying that, it is leaving the American Dream, but he is not saying that it has completely left. Americans are choosing to not finish school, if someone does not finish high school, they cannot go to college. Yes, college is expensive, but there is financial aid, grants, loans. And if someone is serious about having a career and finishing school that person can achieve their goals to live the American Dream.
